This was my first time in Haines, Alaska and as soon as I saw those mountains, I finally understood why this is the mecca for any big mountain freestyle rider. The 360 views are breathtaking there, and flying around those giants in a helicopter is pretty much the coolest thing ever. We stopped for lunch on a ridge and were scoping this never been ridden face from afar. With a warm spell in the forecast, this was most likely going to be our last day shredding. So Jake and Mikkel stepped up to this heavy line. I was actually scared for those guys, as I hung out of a helicopter to take the photos. Jake rode the ridge with surgeon-like precision and proceeded to slash his way down the spines. This is my most favorite photo I have taken in Alaska.
